Abstract

Hospitality Study Program (HSP) of Bali Sate Polytechnic always improves the quality of graduates in order to be able to compete in the job. The number of similar institutions that are always growing, demanding the lecturers always to be creative and innovate so that quality of graduates are able to compete competitively. This study examines the factors that influence learning motivation to improve the academic achievement of students so they are more confident to confront the global competition. The study was conducted on semester VI who have been and are conducting job training at hotel/restaurant as research sample (100) using confirmatory factor analysis. The result showed that the three factors,
both lecturer factor, infrastructure, and environmental factors give significant influence to learning motivation to improve the academic achievement of students. The most dominant factor determining student learning motivation is lecturer, followed by infrastructure and subsequently is environmental factor. Thus, it is suggested to management to give more training or development to the lecturers,
especially the lecturers who teach the core subjects. To the lecturers are expected to continue to develop themselves by participating in various trainee in industry so that the material given to students is always up-todate.
