Abstract

There were often happened accidents on the railroad crossing caused by railway operators error
that late to closed doorstop (human error). One of the ways to resolve the occurence of human error is to build automatic doorstop system. This Final Project aims to build automatic doorstop system vibration based sensor. Vibration sensor detect the presence of trains with certain delay based on program. Data results from sensor sent to coordinator for processing and proceeded to doorstop system so that the doorstop can close. Data that sent to coordinator are value of x-axis, y-axis, z-axis, and condition of there is or there isn’t train passes by. Communication between sensor node and coordinator using XBee wireless network with star topology. The success in sending data is seen from the data received by coordinator that is suitable with the data generated by sensor node. The test results show that the delay of reading data on the sensor affects the data received by the coordinator. Delay accurate time in reading vibration data is 500 ms with percentage is 97,83%.
