Abstract

The weather is extreme and becomes erratic due to global warming. The intensity of high
rainfall, and the lack of land absorption could result in the volume of water in the dam exceeding the
overflow capacity. The method of direct observation by the operator periodically becomes ineffective if
the water volume condition increases suddenly and the operator is not in the position of the dam or the
sluice gate. The ultrasonic sensor of technology for water level and water flow sensor are widely
developed today. Problems with the sensors are the decision making algorithm of the detection results
have been delayed long enough and often a mistake in making the final decision. SWOD is an early
warning system designed to provide information quickly and accurately. The method used is the decision
rules to process the height and water flow sensor data so that it gets status  normal, siaga, darurat  and
awas. The result of decision method gives 5.4% reduction of delay time compared to using fuzzy logic
method. Method of Decision Rules can be used to support the SWOD system in making decisions.
