Analisa Kinerja Bubut Doall LT13 Ditinjau dari Penyimpangan Ketelitian Geometri Mesin dan Kebulatan Benda Kerja

Abstract

In industry, a high resolution production machine is essential for obtaining high quality work
pieces.  However, the better the quality of the machine, the more expensive the price of the machine will
be offered. Besides, the users must use the machine very carefully and also pay more attention on
maintenance. At the moment, there are six turning machines named DoAll Lt13 in the Mechanical
Engineering Laboratory at State Polytechnic Manufature of Bangka Belitung. These machines had been
used by students for educational purposes and producting spare parts for more than twenty two years.
This long period of use might cause deviation on machine geometry, which is the quality of product
resulted will decrease. This research aims to check the feasibility of the machines by measuring the
geometry deviation of the machine and the roundness of the work pieces. The geometry was measured
through several steps or sections which are measurement of periodic  axial slip, Camming of the face
plate, run-out spindle nose centring, run-out of axis of centre, pararelism of longitudinal cariage,  and
run-out of centre. The geometric measurement was referred to ISO/DR 1708 standard, while the
roundness was analized by using minimum area circle method. Based on the result of geometric
measurements, it was obtained that all machines do not suit the standard. In term of roundness
measurement, the highest value out of roundness was 82 μm and the lowest value out of roundness was 17μm
