The river is one source of renewable energy that could be utilized for micro hydro powerplant. The design and
manufacture of Archimedes screw turbine are being developed for micro hydro powerplant. Archimedes screw
turbine is ussually operated in low head. In Europe, the screw turbine have been studied since 2007, while in
Indonesia since 2019. The geometric shape of screw turbine is determined by external parameters i.e the outer
radius, the length of the turbine and the slope of its placement, and internal parameters i.e the internal radius,
number of blade and pitch. External parameters are usually determined by head and flow rate. The aim of this study
is to construct installation of screw turbine for experimental study of archimedes screw turbine in laboratorium
scale. Then this instalation is utilized for external and internal parameters tests. This Archimedes screw turbine is
made of flexyglass. The geometric shape is three blade, 300 of screw angle, 21 of number of blade, and radius ratio 0.54 with 2.4R0.
