Aplikasi Simulasi Monte Carlo untuk Penjadwalan Proyek Konstruksi Menggunakan Microsoft Project

Abstract

 Scheduling plays a very important role for the successful implementation of construction projects. One of the biggest
risks to scheduling is in terms of uncertainties of project duration. To anticipate the uncertainty of the duration of the
project, a method of scheduling has been developed using probabilistic duration, such as PERT method and Monte
Carlo Simulation. Currently, Microsoft Project is the most widely used software for project scheduling, but does not yet have the feature to analyze the risk of scheduling using the Monte Carlo method. This study aims to develop add-ins tools in Microsoft Project in order to apply Monte Carlo simulations in project scheduling.
The applications was developed using Visual Basic Application (VBA) programming language that can be run directly
from Microsoft Project. Furthermore, the simulation results are displayed in Microsoft Excel, for further analysis with
descriptive statistics in the form of probability of project completion time. From the probability chart, the user can
analyze the risks of the planned project schedule.
