Membangun Pangan Lokal Melalui Pemberdayaan Komunitas Petani Jamur Tiram dengan Media Sabut Kelapa

Abstract

The abundance of the coconut coir in North Sulawesi has not been optimally used. An alternative in utilizing coconut  coir is made it as growth medium for oyster mushroom. A community's challenges on the island is the fulfillment of foodstuffs in which are still filled from the main island of North Sulawesi. Cultivation of oyster mushroom on coconut coir media can be effective if done through community farmer engagement in addition to reducing environmental waste, white oyster mushroom cultivation on coconut coir is also an alternative to provide local food sources and increase family income. This activity purpose to develop local food resources through community farmer engagement. The methods used in the application of this research is community empowerment through workshops, socialization, and assistance farmer mushroom community. In this event, the activities of farmer community engagement in Bangka Island, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province.
